Aquatron installations under the frost line in Leh are helping the Indian army manage their sewage over the cold season since October 2022. The Aquatron systems enable frost-free pipes and dry composting of faecal matter as well as discharge of separated flushing water into soak pits. This is a significant change compared to earlier when pipes were getting frozen and soak pits clogged with sludge were a recurring problem.
